The event is organized in partnership with the City of Vancouver, and the Vancouver Public Library (VPL) and as part of Black History Month.

“Borrowed Body” is a novel byValerie Mason-John that was released in Canada on February, 2014. Mason-John, a British-African-Canadian, reading from her novel (a semi- autobiography influenced by her own lived experiences), invited us into a dialogue to explore the Impact of Interracial Fostering and Adoption. Through readings and acting, Mason-John explored such universal themes of identity, belonging, and love in the context of interracial care, fostering and adoption and the impacts of these experiences on the children living these lives.
