Colleen Hanley is recently retired Emeritus designate, having most recently worked with North Island College as the Associate Director, North Island College International. She currently sits on the board of the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation as well as the Comox Valley Global Awareness Network.
During her career, Colleen worked as an administrator and faculty member with both North Island College and Lakeland College and as a consultant developing considerable experience working with and for indigenous peoples, as well as with students and business colleagues from South America, Europe, Africa and throughout the Asias.
Colleen has a Master`s Degree in Organizational Leadership, certification in Intercultural Communication, International Development, Mediation, Negotiation as well as is a Qualified Intercultural Development Inventory Assessor. Committed to enhancing her own intercultural skills and sharing her knowledge with others, Colleen is also participating in developing a Global Solidarity Retreat, volunteering with Honouring our Sisters and other opportunities that open doors for exploring cultural difference. She is an avid traveller, reader and enjoys time in her studio and on her yoga mat. .
